God in the Midst of your Pain and Problems
Did you know that God was thinking about us long before we were thinking about Him? Hard to believe, right? that the God of the universe had YOU in mind before you had your mind on Him? Well, it’s true! In fact, in Jeremiah 29:11 God says, “I know what I am doing. I have it all planned out - plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.” In Psalm 139 we also see that God put us together, perfectly, in the womb! Taken together, these passages let us know that we aren’t a mistake and that God has perfectly designed us to live as His children in the world.
In order to work properly, computers must have an undefiled and functional operating system. Too often in life, humans work with personal “operating systems” based on false narratives built over a lifetime of painful and sometimes abusive upbringings. These backgrounds can even impact our notions of who God is. A significant portion of Pillar’s mission it to help us Celebrate the presence of God in our midst so that we learn to identify these false narratives and replace them with the true narrative of God’s love over us and His plan for us! When we become aware of the false narratives we have embraced over the years and are invited to see our Father in heaven as all good, all of the time, we soon find ourselves trusting the Holy Spirit to provide for our comfort, healing, and meaningful rest.
“Our heart is restless until it rests in you.”
